Luke and Leslie kicked off our second busy season of the year with an absolutely beautiful late summer day. Though the temps were a bit toasty, the sun was shining and love was in the air. The day started off with Luke and his groomsmen hanging out at his parents’ house, getting ready for the big day. We then headed over to Leslie’s parents’ house where she was finishing up getting ready. The bride and groom opted to not do a first look but Leslie and her father decided to have their own special moment. There’s nothing more touching then seeing the pride, joy, and love on a father’s face than when he sees his daughter as a bride for the first time.
The ceremony was held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville, MO. The church is gorgeous on its own, so Leslie opted to decorate simply. The pews were adorned with bulap and lace, along with pew markers with parts of 1 Corinthians 13 written on them. Luke and Leslie were surrounded by their family and friends as they said their vows.
After the ceremony we hopped onto a hayride to get back to Leslie’s parents’ house for portraits. It was the first time we’ve done a wedding where the wedding party arrived on a hayride but it certainly made for some fun pictures along the way. The wooded area around the house was lush and full of vibrant late summer color. It was great to explore the property and find so many different locations to take pictures.
Luke and Leslie, along with their family and friends, put a lot of thought into all the details for the wedding day. The Wardsville Lions Club, where the reception was held, was covered in so many details that really captured the essence of the day. Leslie’s mother is quite the collector and was able to transform the Lions Club. There were little touches throughout that really pulled together the entire wedding theme.
There are some weddings where the reception might fall a bit flat because people just aren’t dancing or guests aren’t have a good time. That was not the case for Luke and Leslie. They had a very energetic group of friends and family who kept the dance floor hopping all night long.
Thank you, Luke and Leslie, for letting us be part of your big day. We had such a wonderful time celebrating you two with all your loved ones!
