While we’re based in Columbia, we have done several weddings in the Jefferson City, Missouri area and surrounding communities. We had a great time a few weeks ago photographing Amber and Adam’s wedding in Wardsville, a small town not too far away from Jefferson City.
The day started off with Amber getting ready at her and Adam’s house with the help of her mother and sisters. Many times brides get ready at a hotel or the church, so it was nice to begin such a momentous day at a place where the bride felt comfortable and right at home! Once Amber was ready to go, we headed to Adam’s parents’ house to meet up with him and the rest of the wedding party and to do first look pictures. If you don’t already know our thoughts on first look pictures, check out our blog post telling you why we think first look pictures are awesome! The front lawn of the house made for the perfect setting, allowing for Amber and Adam to have a moment to themselves for some portraits and down time with just the two of them. Some of my favorite portraits from the day are of Amber with the beautiful rolling hills of Missouri behind her.
After we wrapped up the portraits of Amber and Adam, it was off to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church for the wedding ceremony. The church was filled with friends and family to witness Amber and Adam saying their vows. The beauty of the church was highlighted by simple jewel tone accents, allowing for the grandeur of the church to shine through. While the weather had been sunny most of the day, a quick storm was on its way through the area. Once the ceremony and receiving line were through, we quickly headed to Amber’s grandmother’s farm, where we did their engagement session last year, in order to get some full wedding party portraits. We really lucked out as we were able to get in front of the storm front and take some portraits with the pond and bridge behind them.
With portraits wrapped up, it was off to the Wardsville Lions Club for the reception. With jewel tone accents and twinkle lights decorating the hall, it was time to party! Amber and Adam’s guests kept the dance floor busy and our photo booth hopping all night.
Thank you, Amber and Adam, for allowing us to be part of your special day. We had such a wonderful time celebrating with you and your loved ones. We hope you enjoy the photos.
Cheers! Justin & Piper
