Gorgeous. That was the first word that popped into my head when I first saw these pictures from Craig and Ericka’s wedding at The Caramel Room at Bissinger’s in St. Louis, Missouri. Their wedding was such a perfect combination of the two of them and showed how much effort their family and friends put into making this the perfect day. I won’t bog you down with the details of how Craig and Ericka met or how excited we were to be part of their wedding day. You can check all that out in their engagement session blog post.
The day started with Ericka and her bridesmaids getting their hair done at a salon not too far from The Magnolia Hotel, where guests and the wedding party were staying. Once everyone was ready, it was back to the hotel to get dressed and finish up last minute touches. Ericka’s dress was a beautifully beaded gown that fit perfectly into the Gatsby-esque theme of the wedding. One of my favorite pictures from this part of the day is the one of Ericka and her mom having a sweet moment before getting the dress on. After Ericka was ready to go, we headed to the bar to meet up with Craig and his guys before the first look.
The first look – what can I say? This is exactly why we suggest/encourage a first look with our couples – the look of anticipation on Craig’s face, the pure emotion on Ericka’s face, the tender moments between the two with no one else around. Moments like these were meant for a first look. After the first look we did some quick portraits of Ericka before we headed out around St. Louis for pictures with the entire wedding party. We went to the Public Library and Busch Stadium before taking the party bus back to Bissinger’s. Check out the picture of Craig’s bother, Nathan, taking a selfie of the entire wedding party on the bus!
The Caramel Room at Bissinger’s is a relatively new venue in St. Louis. Actually, Craig and Ericka booked this spot for their wedding and reception last year before the renovations were even completed! And it is a gorgeous venue to say the least. There are so many spaces to utilize for your event. The wedding ceremony was held outdoors on the building’s patio overlooking the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge crossing the Mississippi River. Following the sweet and touching ceremony, guests were invited inside for the cocktail hour.
The reception was beyond a fun evening! Dinner was phenomenal, with every place setting being given a treat box with chocolates made at Bissinger’s, and the band kept everyone dancing the night away – the bride and groom even got in on some cowbell action with the band! We had our photo booth set-up just outside the main ballroom, allowing guests to take a break from dancing. You can check out all the photo booth fun, here.
Thank you, Craig and Ericka, for allowing us to be part of your special day. We had such a wonderful time celebrating with you and your loved ones. We hope you enjoy the pictures.
Cheers! Piper & Justin
