This past spring, we aligned ourselves with amazing vendors to create what I dubbed Artful Collaboration. As I shifted through inspiration, I kept coming back to the idea of doing a photo shoot within an art gallery. I was immediately drawn to the idea of geometric shapes, succulents, neutral tones, and geodes. In Columbia, Missouri we are blessed to have Sager Braudis Gallery. Their gallery space is elegant, modern, and light filled. I knew immediately I wanted to collaborate with them but that I didn’t want to detract from the gorgeous artwork Sager Braudis would be featuring. I knew that in order to make this vision come to life, we needed to bring together a dream team of vendors.
Sager Braudis Gallery was the perfect location for this styled shoot. We had the pleasure of staging this photo shoot when their Cuban Contemporary Exhibit was on display. There were several pieces I fell in love with and desperately wanted to take home with me. I knew that while I could bring a vision to the table for this shoot, I knew I couldn’t coordinate it all. We turned to Anne Churchill of Annabelle Events to help bring together the vision and the vendors. We have worked with Anne on several photo shoots before and we’re never disappointed with her and the Annabelle Events team.
Sager Braudis was basically a blank slate, waiting to be filled to showcase the artwork. We turned to our good friends at A1 Party & Event Rentals to help fill the space. They had just gotten in marble salad plates and I knew those needed to be on display. I also love the Jupiter glassware we used for water. Their inventory had the just right balance of modern with classic. Check out those clear Chiavari chairs! And those plates, oh those plates! I’m trying to figure out how many more events I can get away with using those plates for!
With the artwork as the main decoration for this photo shoot, we needed to keep the tables fairly clean and simple. Christy with The Ink Café produced some amazing pieces of work for this photo shoot. When I told her I was in love with agate slices and geodes, she ran with it. How beautiful are those agate place cards??? I could go on and on about the beauty Christy creates. To complement not only the artwork on the wall but the artwork on the table, Tiger Garden kept it simple. I love the simplistic beauty of the orchids paired with succulents in the terrariums. And Tiger Garden was able to bring to life this idea I had for succulent terrarium favors for guests. It fun to send all the guests away at the end of the evening with a succulent of their very own!
You can’t plan an event without food and drinks! With being downtown, we turned to The Broadway Hotel for catering and specialty drinks. There was nothing that they brought that wasn’t enjoyed thoroughly by guests. Do yourself a favor and when you’re scrolling through the pictures, stop and really enjoy the photos of the food. Trust me when I say this food was divine. Also on hand to provide libations to guests was Craft Beer Cellar. It was so nice to be able to offer guests both beer and sprits to enjoy as they savored the artwork, good food, and fellowship. To cap off an wonderful evening on a sweet note, guests took home custom sugar cookies made by Kiss Me Cookies.
When putting together a styled shoot, you put your vision in the hands of so many creative minds. I was beyond blown away with how perfectly this group of vendors brought together the vision we had for a sophisticated art gallery photo shoot. We hope that you enjoy the photos and it was our pleasure to work with this spectacular team of local vendors.
