It’s been a busy May and June for us, so we took a quick break and headed out on vacation with friends. The time off was wonderful and now it’s back to the swing of things. A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of photographing Matt and Danielle’s wedding at the Lake of the Ozarks. We first met Matt and Danielle a couple years ago for their family portrait session with us. We were more than thrilled when they asked us to document their special day after Matt proposed to Danielle!
Since Matt and Danielle have family and friends from all over, they wanted to do a destination wedding but still stay close to home. They chose Osage National Golf Club for their wedding ceremony and Camden on the Lake for their reception venue. Both sites provided a beautiful backdrop for their wedding day.
The day started off with Danielle and her bridesmaids getting ready at Camden on the Lake before we met up with Matt and the groomsmen. With their wedding party looking on, Matt and Danielle did a first look. I love the expression on Danielle’s face as she’s getting ready to walk up to Matt for the first time! With the help of our second shooter, Julie Sumpter, we were able to cover every angle of this special moment between the couple.
We headed over to Osage National Golf Course for their ceremony. Matt and Danielle’s son, Nathan, was the ring bearer. He was a little hesitant at first to head down the aisle but then he covered ground quickly by doing a full sprint to the altar! Judge John Brand Eskew performed the ceremony, which was pretty neat because he has been friends with the groom’s parents since they all were in grad school together. Also, Judge Eskew and his wife were celebrating their thirty-fourth wedding anniversary that day!
After the ceremony we strolled the grounds of Osage National with the wedding party for some group portraits. As the sun continued to set, we did portraits with just Matt and Danielle. The gently setting sunlight allowed us to capture some gorgeous photos of not only the bride and groom, but Danielle by herself.
Camden on the Lake was decorated beautifully for their reception. Danielle envisioned an elegant wedding and all the little touches let this vision happen. The reception was the kind of reception you hope for; good food, dance floor hopping, and everyone having a great time.
Thank you, Matt and Danielle, for allowing us to be part of such a special moment in your lives. We enjoyed working with you and spending the evening with you two and your family and friends!
