You might remember Kayce and Mark from their engagement session this summer, last weekend we photographed their lovely fall wedding in St. Louis. Thanks to Ryan Gladstone who did a great job as the second photographer and lighting assistant.
Kayce and Mark decided to do a first look before the ceremony, so we headed across the street from St. Gabriel the Archangel to Francis Park which was a great setting for this special moment. Photographing a first look between a bride and groom is one of my favorite moments to capture during a wedding. The pure emotion makes for great photographs and is a great way to ease the bride and groom’s nerves a little bit on the wedding day.
After the first look and ceremony at the church we headed back across the street to Francis Park to get portraits with the entire wedding party. The wedding was on the day before daylight savings ended so we were scrambling to get over to NEO on Locust where we were able to go onto the roof of the building to take pictures as the sun was setting. We made it up onto the roof just in time and were fortunate enough to have some great color in the sky behind the wedding party as we took portraits.
Mark and Kayce had a great reception at NEO on Locust, and their band Mirage kept the energy level high all night. It is always nice to see a bride and groom having so much fun at their wedding reception, and Mark and Kayce were out there dancing with all of their friends and family for the entire night.
Thanks to Mark and Kayce for allowing us to photograph their wedding, we had a great time.
