Picture this – you convince your clients that a sunrise engagement session is going to be the most magical thing. That it’ll be worth getting up early for. That there will be nothing like the sun rising over the trees at Capen Park, while high on the bluff top, for their engagement pictures. And then reality happens. You move the engagement session once because nothing but rain is in the forecast. And when you actually get to the engagement session, climbing the bluffs before the sun is even up, you’re greeted with gusty wind and rain. It was the kind of weather that could have been a damper for a session but Maureen and Tyler were troopers.
We did as much at Capen Park as we could. For one brief second we were treated to a gorgeous sunrise sky, full of those desired colors. With more rain impending, we decided to head to Maureen and Tyler’s house for a mini lifestyle session. We did some photos of them relaxing with a puzzle and few with their beloved fur babies. And with the threat of rain ebbing, we headed to downtown Columbia for more.
At Coffee Zone we all got breakfast and Maureen could show off the personalized coffee mugs she got. But of course that ring makes you look engaged! And then we wandered down 9th street, stopping at Missouri United Methodist Church and Mizzou’s Quad and iconic columns. We weren’t given too much color and light at Capen Park but the early morning light while on campus was beautiful. The morning might not have started off the best but it ended perfectly.
Thank you, Maureen and Tyler, for being such troopers through an adventure of an engagement session. It takes a lot to do an early morning session and you two were awesome. We are so looking forward to your wedding next fall!
Cheers! Piper & Justin
