Our 2016 spring wedding season kicked off with Sedel and Matt’s gorgeous Columbia, Missouri wedding. They seemed to be blessed with some gorgeous weather for their photos, as you can see from their engagement session last fall. Originally these two were on our calendar for a May wedding but then ended up moving their wedding to March in order to have a small, intimate affair with their closest family and friends.
The day began with both bride and groom getting ready at the Broadway Hotel in downtown Columbia. One of the nice things about this hotel is that there are balconies on most of the rooms, which lets in a ton of natural light. Plus, the balconies are a great place to take some pre-wedding bridal portraits. After wrapping up a few portraits there, we headed over to Reichmann Pavilion for the ceremony and reception. Sedel poured her heart and soul into decorating the venue, bringing in so many handmade touches that really spoke of her and Matt. I usually email our couples after their wedding to see who all the vendors were that made their day so special and pretty much every single detail you see at the ceremony/reception Sedel and/or family and friends made. This is true from the decorations to the paper flowers to the cake & cupcakes to the wooden coasters.
After a very touching ceremony we went just outside of the pavilion to take full wedding party photos in the gorgeous early spring light and foliage. I love the patch of wild clover we found for their photos. The purple color of the clover just says spring wedding to me. As the sun gently set, it was back into the pavilion for dinner and dancing. When you have a small wedding, such as Matt and Sedel, it’s easy for every moment to be poignant and touching. After speeches and first dances, guests partied the night away.
Thank you, Sedel and Matt, for letting us be part of your special day. With so few other vendors (because you all are ROCK STARS!), we’re thankful we could help celebrate your marriage. We hope you enjoy your pictures. Cheers! Piper & Justin
