The end of our wedding season wrapped up with two weddings on one weekend! The festivities began with Sally and David’s wedding at Columbia Country Club. CCC is one of our favorite venues in Columbia, Missouri as it not only provides couples with breathtaking sites for ceremonies and photographs, but also is filled with receptive and hardworking staff. Columbia Country Club is also great because you can do all parts of your wedding day there from getting ready to ceremony to the reception, which is what Sally and David did.
After the ladies got ready, it was time for a first look between Sally and her dad. I’ve seen some awesome first look photos before but I absolutely love the expression on her dad’s face when he sees his little girl for the first time. Talk about priceless! I don’t think there is a better example of a real wedding moment than that. After a few photos of David and his groomsmen getting ready, it was time for the other first look.
The path just outside of the Club is the perfect place for a sweet, simple moment between bride and groom. You could tell that Sally and David were excited for all that their wedding day would bring. We wrapped up being outdoors on a sunny, but windy day, with some full wedding party photos. The deep red, almost burgundy, bridesmaid dresses were the perfect compliment to this gorgeous fall day.
This was our first wedding that we’ve photographed inside Columbia Country Club’s ballroom. The custom aisle runner and candles were a simple, yet elegant, touch to the already stunning room. The ceremony included touching vows Sally and David had prepared themselves and had a rose ceremony with their mothers. It was a love, laughter, and tears of joy filled ceremony that highlighted the love Sally and David have for one another. Following the ceremony, we headed out on the golf course to take advantage of the perfect Missouri fall light streaming through the trees. The golden hour did not disappoint and we were treated to the most beautiful weather.
And just like that, the amazing staff at Columbia Country Club did a complete switch of the ballroom, moving it from ceremony site to reception ready in the blink of an eye. Much of the decorations from the ceremony were repurposed to the reception, along with the addition of custom uplighting. Check out the pattern on the ceiling – pretty cool! I love how something so simple, yet elegant can make such a big difference in an already pretty space.
The reception started as most receptions do. There was cake cutting, toasts, and first dances. But then to liven the reception up and provide a surprise to guests, out came the belly dancer! As a treat to guests, Sally and David had a belly dancer not only come to perform a few dances but to also teach guests how to move! I love the image of Sally and the belly dancer dancing in the middle of a circle of Sally’s closest friends and family. After the excitement of the surprise, guests kept the dance floor busy and closed out the night strong.
Thanks, Sally and David, for allowing us to capture all the wonderful moments of your wedding day.
Cheers! Piper & Justin
