Francis Quadrangle in the snow

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

Columbia received a lot of snow this winter which gave me plenty of opportunities to trek through the snow to make some cool photos. I had an early assignment one morning and on the way back to the office I swung by MU’s quad and made a few photos of the columns and Jesse Hall in the snow. Here is one of my favorites from that morning.

Burr Oak in the snow

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

The state champion Burr Oak tree near McBaine, Mo. is believed to be over 350 years-old.

After it snowed a couple of weeks ago I took a few minutes to drive down to the Burr Oak tree near McBaine to make a few photos of the giant tree surrounded by snow. There was a couple down there taking a few photos of themselves with a camera on a tripod and self timer, so if you look closely you can see them under the tree. Look for more photos of this tree in the future.
