Photo of the Week: Mar. 7-23 {Rainy Day Tulip}

Friday, March 23rd, 2012

The flowers have started to bloom in Columbia over the last week or so, but it seems like it has constantly rained over the last week here. This morning I went out into the drizzle for a few minutes and took a few photographs of the tulips that have began to bloom.

I used a 60 mm macro lens to photograph this yellow tulip with rain drops all over it. I think this photograph looks pretty interesting and as you keep looking at the picture you see new details as you examine the frame.

Missouri Botanical Garden

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

My parent’s were in St. Louis last weekend so we met up with them for the day, we decided to go to the Missouri Botanical Garden and walk around for the afternoon. I took my camera with me and a couple of lenses including a macro lens to try to do some close up photography. It was a nice overcast day which helped to even the light over the flowers.

My mom participates in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer with my aunt who is a breast cancer survivor every year. For the last few years my mom has been doing a fundraiser which includes a silent auction and I have been donating a pink flower print to help with her fundraising efforts. I was sure to take some pictures of pink flowers to add to my collection.
